Role Description
The Process Engineer contributes to the optimization and scaling of the company’s commercial installations around the world. He or she is responsible for conceiving and following the implementation of new equipment as well as for adapting existing installations. The Process Engineer may also be required to supervise or manage other operational projects per management request.
The incumbent’s responsibilities will be to:
- Develop, configure, optimize and validate the company’s industrial processes, from creation to start-up and certification
- Evaluate the processes, take measurements and interpret data
- Conceive, execute, test and upgrade systems and processes at pilot scale
- Develop and optimize assembly production processes to reach objectives in terms of production, quality and cost
- Collect production data and use standard scientific and statistical methods to analyse, document and schematize production processes
- Identify bottlenecks within the processes and come up with solutions
- Examine and recommand changes or upgrades in equipment, work methods or other aspects of the processes to improve efficiency and proper use of resources
- Plan, organize, manage and supervise various projects with tight deadlines
- Provide detailed reports for all project phases
- Examine, optimize and simulate processes for commercial projects
Experiences and abilities required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in petrochemistry or polymer processes in a plant
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, in French and English
- Aspen Chemcad
- Knowledge of PFD, PID & HMB
